Unit History

Chartered by the Lion’s Club of Grovetown October 1st, 2008, Pack 108 was formed to serve boys from Cedar Ridge Elementary School and the Grovetown, Georgia, area.  Now comprised of Dens 1 (Wolves), 5 (Tigers), and the Dragon Den (Webelos), the pack is very active in the community and was designated a Centennial Quality Unit, 100% Boy's Life, for 2008.  Den 1 was the first den formed upon the formation of the unit.  All nine of the original Cubs completed their first year of the Scouting program and the Den was promoted to a Wolf den in May 09.  The den won the National Den Award for its work in the 2008-2009 year.  Den 4, the Dragon Den, was also formed October 1st, 2008, and has participated in every pack activity since that time.  The den won the National Den Award for its work in the 2008-2009 year.

Rechartered by Fellowship Baptist Church of Grovetown in January of 2010, Pack 108 doubled in size in the first year, earning a Gold Centennial Recruiter Honor Unit and the distinction of recruiting more Scouts than any other unit in Kiokee District.  At recharter, the pack consisted of Dens 1 (Wolves), 4 (Webelos II), 5 (Tigers), 6 (Wolves), and 8 (Webelos I).  In February 2011, the Pack performed it's first-ever bridging ceremony, transitioning 5 Webelos II Scouts into the Boy Scouting program.

In January 2013, we continued to build and grow. Pack 108 rechartered 46 scouts and is in the process of adding another 4! In March we bridged six great boys into the Boy Scouts, three with Troops 108, our partner Troop.

On 1 June 2013, Pack 108 changed it's charter to the City of Grovetown Department of Emergency Services. Our new charter brings greater visibility and stability to an already excellent program with better facilities for Pack 108 to utilize in the coming years.
