Mount Pleasant Girl Scout Community

Girl Scouts' mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Girls in kindergarten through grade 12 learn and practice leadership as they discover new talents, skills, and strengths, connect with other girls, and take action in their communities. The Girl Scout Experience - activities from troop meetings to camping, engineering to arts, science to service projects– is designed to challenge and prepare girls for the future.

Trained, caring adult volunteers help girls practice decision-making, build teamwork, develop healthy and positive self-esteem, strengthen values, and form caring relationships. Girls make friends and memories that last a lifetime.

What We Do

In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Through a myriad of enriching experiences, such as extraordinary field trips, sports skill-building clinics, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships, girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others.

Girl Scout Leadership Experience

The Girl Scout Leadership Experience engages girls in discovering self, connecting with others, and taking action to make the world a better place. All Girl Scout experiences are intentionally designed to tie to one or more of the 15 national leadership benefits, or benefits, categorized under three keys to leadership.

The Three Keys to Leadership

Discover:
Girls understand themselves and their values and use their knowledge and skills to explore the world.

Connect: Girls care about, inspire, and team with others locally and globally.

Take Action: Girls act to make the world a better place. The Girl Scout Leadership Experience provides three processes for adults partnering with girls to incorporate: Girl Led, Cooperative Learning, and Learning by Doing.

GIRL SCOUT PROMISE
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
and to live by the Girl Scout Law.

GIRL SCOUT LAW
I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.
